The son of King John and Isabella of Angoulême, Henry assumed the throne when he was only nine in the middle of the First Barons’ War.

His reign was marked by various challenges, including conflicts with the barons and the implementation of the Provisions of Oxford in 1258, which aimed to restrict the king’s powers.

Henry III’s death occurred in the Palace of Westminster in London, and he was succeeded by his son, Edward I, who has been Lord of Ireland since 1254, succeeds him
