Benjamin Burton, the politician and Revenue Commissioner, was born on January 12, 1709 in Dublin.

Benjamin was educated at Eton and Trinity College, Dublin.

Burton represented Knocktopher from 1741 until 1760 and County Carlow from 1761 until his death.

He was Commissioner of Revenue for Ireland and a Privy Councillor.

He was a notable figure in the early 18th century and played a role in the administration of revenue and taxation during his time.
